Ticket exchanges are allowed but must be for another performance of the same opera. All exchanges are subject to any difference in price between the original ticket and the new ticket. One of the benefits of being a season subscriber is feeless exchanges! Single ticket holders can also exchange their tickets for a $10/per ticket fee. Exchanges must be completed at least one business day prior to the performance. All late exchanges, including those made by season subscribers, will incur an additional $10 per ticket fee. Once the performance begins, we are unable to offer exchanges.
What should I do if I have an extra ticket?
Bring a friend, neighbor, coworker, or family member and treat them to a new experience! If that isn’t possible, you may donate your extra ticket as a qualifying charitable gift equal to the face value of the ticket. Tickets can be donated up to one hour prior to curtain time. You can call the ticket office at 214.443.1000 during regular office hours or leave a message at 214.443.1005 after hours. The receipt for your ticket donation will be mailed to you in January.
May I bring children to the opera?
The Dallas Opera welcomes children ages five and above to mainstage performances, concerts, and recitals at the Winspear Opera House that are suitable for young children. As many operas contain adult subject matter, we strongly advise that parents check our website for content advisories and read the synopsis in advance of purchasing tickets for children regardless of age.
Any patron with a child who creates a disturbance or interferes with other’s enjoyment of the performance will be asked to leave without a refund. You may watch the remainder of the performance from the lobby monitors. For this reason, we recommend bringing your children to programs designed specifically for families.
Everyone, regardless of age, who attends a ticketed performance presented by The Dallas Opera at the Winspear Opera House or Moody Performance Hall must have a ticket. This includes free, ticketed performances.
Can I purchase a ticket at the Winspear Opera House?
In-person ticket purchases are available at the Performance Box Office unless the performance is already sold-out. The Performance Box Office, located in the East Lobby, is open starting 90-minutes prior to curtain time. To most effectively serve you, we are unable to make cash transactions at this time. All major credit cards are accepted. For additional information, contact Patron Services 214.443.1000.
