Each spring and fall, The Dallas Opera brings live opera directly to communities across the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex with free, family-friendly performances. These entertaining and educational “pop-up” productions are presented at libraries, parks, community centers, and other local venues across DFW, so audiences of all ages can experience opera close to home.
Performances run 30 to 40 minutes long and are designed to be engaging, accessible, and enjoyable for the whole family. Many are presented on the OperaTruck—an 18-wheel flatbed “big rig” transformed into a fully equipped outdoor mobile stage that brings professional opera performances to your neighborhood.

THE BREMEN TOWN MUSICIANS
The band that bands together, stays together
An operatic version of The Town Musicians of Bremen. Eddie Pensier is a rooster who loves to sing, but his loud songs get him sent away from the farm. On the road, he meets Barcarolle the dog, Dorabella the cat, and General Boom the donkey—all animals who feel unwanted and dream of something better. By working together, they become a band and discover that friendship, teamwork, and kindness make any journey easier—and much more fun.
