Gretchen Krupp (Tebaldo), “a mezzo capable of searing delivery, powerful and ripe” (Opera Today) most recently made her European debut reprising the role of Samira in The Ghosts of Versailles at the Château de Versailles Spectacles. In summer 2019, she debuted the same role at The Glimmerglass Festival where she also sang Mrs. Noye in Noye’s Fludde. In 2019, she made her mainstage debut with Greensboro Opera as the Witch in Hansel and Gretel. Gretchen was a Grand Finalist in the 2018 Metropolitan Opera National Council auditions and a finalist in the 2017 Concert of Arias at Houston Grand Opera. Her training includes apprenticeships with The Glimmerglass Festival, Wolf Trap Opera, Des Moines Metro Opera, and Dolora Zajick’s Institute for Young Dramatic Voices. In the summer of 2020, she was a Filene Artist with Wolf Trap Opera, singing Larina in Eugene Onegin.
