Grammy Award winner, Mark S. Doss has sung with the major orchestras of San Francisco, Philadelphia, Cleveland, Chicago and Toronto, while additionally performing 95 roles with more than 60 major opera companies around the world, including Milan’s Teatro alla Scala, the Vienna State Opera, London’s Covent Garden, San Francisco Opera, Lyric Opera of Chicago, Santa Fe Opera and the Canadian Opera Company. The last two seasons included Sujskij in Dvořák’s Dimitrij at Odessey Opera in Boston, Méphistophélès in Faust with Ópera Oviedo in Spain, Amonasro in Aida with the Teatro Regio in Turin, Jochanaan in Salome with the Teatre Principal de Palma in Mallorca, and he performed the title role in Verdi’s Macbeth with the Dorset Opera Festival.
Based in North America, Mark S. Doss began his career at the Metropolitan Opera, being a MET Finalist Winner and a First Prize Winner of the Verdi Competition that same year. He has since sung nearly 100 roles with over 60 major opera houses, Escamillo (Carmen), Jochanaan (Salome) and Amonasro (Aida) among his eight at the famed Teatro alla Scala. A Grammy Award Winner for his participation in Handel’s Semele (Best Opera Recording), he is also an avid player of tennis, chess and table tennis. Recent engagements include Alfio (Cavalleria rusticana) at Covent Garden; Scarpia (Tosca) with Welsh National Opera, and Amfortas (Parsifal) in Poznan, Poland. After Dallas he will reprise the role of the Colonial Soldier (Shell Shock) with the Philharmonie de Paris.
