Mariusz Kwiecien is recognized worldwide as one of the leading baritones before the public today. In the current season, he sings Alphonse in La Favorite and Almaviva in Le nozze di Figaro with the Bayerische Staatsoper, the title role of Eugene Onegin with Lyric Opera of Chicago, and returns to the Metropolitan Opera and Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona for the title role of Don Giovanni. Last season, Mr. Kwiecien returned to the Met to perform roles in two new productions: Zurga in Bizet’s Les Pêcheurs de Perles, the Duke of Nottingham in Roberto Devereux. He performed as Don Giovanni with the Vienna State Opera and sang Rodrigo in Don Carlo with the San Francisco Opera.
