Praised for her “silvery, ethereal-sounding Sophie” by Opera magazine and “lovely vocal delicacy” in The Telegraph, Madison Leonard shone in her international debut in 2021 in Der Rosenkavalier at Garsington Opera. In addition to her company debut in Dallas, she makes role debuts as Leïla in Les pêcheurs des perles at Austin Opera and Marie in La fille due regimént at Utah Opera in the 2022-23 season. Last season, she returned to Austin Opera and made her debut with the Lyric Opera of Kansas City as Chrisann Brennan in The [R]evolution of Steve Jobs. She also joined Utah Opera as Mabel in the Pirates of Penzance. Coming seasons see her return to Garsington Opera for a role debut. Other recent performances include Gilda in Rigoletto (Austin Opera, Seattle Opera); Morgana in Alcina and Rose in The Little Prince (Washington National Opera); Adina in a video performance of L’elisir d’amore, Chrisann Brennan The [R]evolution of Steve Jobs and Frasquita in Carmen (Seattle Opera); Juliette in Roméo et Juliette and Ilia in Idomeneo (Wolf Trap Opera); Susanna in Le nozze di Figaro and Rosina in Il barbiere di Siviglia (Inland Northwest Opera); and multiple engagements with both the National Symphony Orchestra and Florida Orchestra.
