
Salvadoran-American mezzo-soprano, Karina Buruca-Kunda is a native of Dallas. She earned her bachelor’s degree in music education from Dallas Baptist University and both a master’s degree and performer’s diploma in voice performance from Southern Methodist University’s Meadow School of the Arts. Buruca-Kunda’s opera roles include Cherubino in Le Nozze di Figaro(LOSW, Germany), Zita in Gianni Schicchi (SMU), Lucretia in The Rape of Lucretia (SMU), Orlovsky in Die Fledermaus (LOSW, Germany), Ernesto in The Billy Goats Gruff and Cherubino in The Three Little Pigs. She is currently also a singer with The Dallas Opera Chorus.
