Joshua Friend is a tenor based out of Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas.
Recently, Joshua completed a year as Fort Worth Opera’s Apprentice Artist and his recent roles include Don José (Carmen), as well as Dr Caius (Falstaff), Lysander in a production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Jumper in the premiere of The Falling and the Rising in conjunction with the U.S. Army, a premiere of the new work A Bridge for Three and The Flying Dutchman & The Golden Cockerel with The Dallas Opera.
He was also hired by the Fort Worth Opera for a production of Amahl and the Night Visitors (Kaspar) and as a regular recitalist by TCC.
Previously, Joshua has been the tenor soloist for the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra as well as the TCU Symphony Orchestra and Wind Symphony.
Recent concert and scene performances include the roles of Otello (Verdi), Siegmund (Wagner) with the American Institute of Musical Studies in Austria, Europe, in their orchestral concert series in the famous Stefaniensaal, as well as a fully staged production of Schubert’s Die Winterreise in Fort Worth, Texas. Joshua was the cover for Don José in Fort Worth Opera’s most recent production of Carmen.
