Golda Schultz, was born in South Africa and is a graduate of New York’s prestigious Juilliard School, and a former member of Bayerische Staatsoper’s ensemble where she continues to perform regularly. Her profile continues to rise with each critically-acclaimed debut, be it Sophie (Der Rosenkavalier) at Salzburger Festspiele, Susanna (Le nozze di Figaro) at Teatro alla Scala, or Pamina (Die Zauberflöte) at the Metropolitan Opera. In the current season, Golda returns to Glyndebourne as Mme Lidoine (Dialogues des Carmélites), Wiener Staatsoper as Liù (Turandot), and to The Met both as Sophie under Sir Simon Rattle, and for her first Clara (Porgy and Bess). In concert, she debuts with the Philadelphia Orchestra/Nézet-Séguin, Los Angeles Philharmonic/Dudamel, Salonen and Mehta, and London Symphony Orchestra/Alan Gilbert, and makes her recital debut at Carnegie Hall.
