Baritone Gideon Dabi has been acclaimed for his beautifully performed and articulated portrayals. Audiences have enjoyed his singing in centers ranging from his home State Theater in New Brunswick, NJ, to the Music Festival of the Hamptons to performing centers in Israel and Italy. In the 2018/2019 season, he returned to The Dallas Opera as Schaunard in La bohème, following his debut with the company as Morales in Carmen in the previous season. He has spent many seasons with Sarasota Opera, where he was heard in his role debut as Dr. Malatesta in Don Pasquale, and as Schaunard, among other roles. With the Ash Lawn Opera (now Charlottesville Opera), he has appeared in Amahl and the Night Visitors, and sang the role of Sir James in the company’s East Coast premiere of Allen Shearer’s Middlemarch in Spring. Dabi made his Tulsa Opera debut in 2019/2020 as Morales. Previous engagements have included performances with Opera Colorado, the Chautauqua Symphony, New York Lyric Opera, and the Manhattan School of Music Opera, among others.
