Ewa Plonka mezzo-soprano, has been hailed for her “warm voice” by Germany’s Music Heute. Polish soprano Ewa Płonka’s 2018-19 season will open in performances of Karol Szymanowski’s Stabat Mater at Carnegie Hall with the Oratorio Society of New York in a concert marking the centennial of Polish independence. She will debut with Finland’s Oulu Symphony Orchestra singing Richard Wagner’s Wesendonck Lieder led by conductor Jessica Cottis and with Opéra Orchestre de Montpellier France as the soloist in Mahler’s Symphony No. 3 with conductor Michael Schønwandt. On the opera stage, she returns to Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe for further performances of Giovanna Seymour in Donizetti’s Anna Bolena. Recently, Ms. Plonka returned to Oper Frankfurt for her role debut as Azucena in Verdi’s Il Trovatore.
