The celebrated American soprano has starred in the title role/Tosca in Zurich, Dresden, and Vienna. Magee has also triumphed internationally in a repertoire extending from Mozart, Verdi, and Puccini to Strauss, Wagner, Janáček and Britten. Among her signature roles are the heroines of Die Frau ohne Schatten (La Scala, Tokyo, Hamburg, Zurich, most recently the Verbier Festival and London’s Royal Opera House) and Ariadne auf Naxos (Zurich, Salzburg, Dresden, Munich). Recent successes also include Magee’s role debuts in Fidelio (Bonn), La fanciulla del West (Naples), La forza del destino (Dresden), Mathis der Maler and Francesca da Rimini (both in Zurich), as well as her portrayals of Ghita/Der Zwerg (Berlin), Sieglinde/Die Walküre and Gutrune/Götterdämmerung (both in London), and Chrysothemis/Elektra (Paris). HD audiences worldwide have seen Magee’s Met debut portrayal, the Foreign Princess/Rusalka. The soprano has also been acclaimed with the major companies of Munich, Chicago, and San Francisco, and at the Bayreuth and Lucerne festivals.
