The American mezzo-soprano, who debuted at TDO as Javotte/Manon, previously appeared in Flight at Utah Opera, where she has also starred as Blitzstein’s Regina. North American highlights of her exceptionally varied operatic career also include performances at the Met in Idomeneo, Rusalka, Madama Butterfly, and Parsifal; seven major roles at New York City Opera; Ma Joad/The Grapes of Wrath (Minnesota Opera, world premiere); the title role/Giulio Cesare (Milwaukee); The Composer/Ariadne auf Naxos (Tulsa); Dido/Dido and Aeneas (Spoleto USA); Cherubino/The Marriage of Figaro and Zenobia/Radamisto (St. Louis); Nero/The Coronation of Poppea (Boston); and appearances with the major companies of Los Angeles, Atlanta, Washington, Portland, and Vancouver, as well as the Bard Music Festival. Meek made her Paris debut at the Châtelet as Rossweisse/Die Walküre and portrayed Dorabella/Così fan tutte at Strasbourg’s Opéra National du Rhin. Internationally she has also starred in Britain (Alcina, English National Opera; Der Rosenkavalier, The Barber of Seville; Opera North; La Cenerentola, Grange Park Opera); Italy (A Midsummer Night’s Dream, La Scala); and with the leading opera houses of Barcelona, Madrid, Brussels, and Buenos Aires.
