During 2019/20 the American mezzo-soprano (TDO debut) portrayed Waltraute/Twilight: Gods at both Michigan Opera Theatre and Lyric Opera of Chicago. She has recently sung Wellgunde/Götterdämmerung at the National Taichung Theatre in Taiwan. Among other important career highlights in recent seasons have been Sister Helen Prejean/Dead Man Walking at both The Minnesota Opera and Dayton Opera; performances in various roles of Wagner’s Ring cycle with Houston Grand Opera, Washington National Opera, the Boston Symphony Orchestra, the Dallas Symphony, and the National Taichung Theatre; Amneris/Aïda at Houston Grand Opera, Opera Colorado, and Opera Santa Barbara; Adalgisa/Norma at Florida Grand Opera; the Composer/Ariadne auf Naxos at the Glimmerglass Festival; and Eva/An American Dream at Lyric Opera of Chicago. The mezzo has appeared in many other contemporary-opera roles, among them Mary/Jeanine Tesori’s The Lion, the Unicorn, and Me in its world premiere at Washington National Opera; Genevieve/Paul Hindemith’s The Long Christmas Dinner with the American Symphony Orchestra; Tamara/Ben Moore’s Enemies, A Love Story at Kentucky Opera; and Sara Miller/D. J. Sparr’s Approaching Ali at Washington National Opera.
