The acclaimed American countertenor (TDO debut) was nominated for a 2019 Grammy Award for his first album, ARC. He was also Musical America’s 2019 vocalist of the year. Costanzo has appeared at the Metropolitan Opera, Glyndebourne, Spoleto USA, the Glimmerglass Festival, and the major houses of Chicago, San Francisco, Houston, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, Toronto, London, Madrid, and Helsinki. He has been featured with the leading orchestras of New York, San Francisco, Washington, Cleveland, Berlin, and London. Among the diverse venues in which he has appeared are Carnegie Hall, Versailles, The Kennedy Center, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, National Sawdust, Minamiza Kyoto, Joe’s Pub, and Madison Square Garden. Costanzo is a former Grand Finals winner of the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions and won first prize in Placido Domingo’s Operalia Competition. He has begun working as a producer and curator, creating shows for National Sawdust, Opera Philadelphia, the Philharmonia Baroque, Princeton University, WQXR, The State Theater in Salzburg, Master Voices, and Kabuki-Za Tokyo.
