
Mr. León joins the Los Angeles Opera this season as a Domingo-Colburn-Stein Young Artist. He recently won the Los Angeles district Metropolitan Opera Laffont Competition 2022 and was awarded the Wendy Shattuck ‘75 Presidential Scholarship for Vocal Studies. In November 2022, Anthony won 1st prize and The Don Plácido Domingo Ferrer Prize of Zarzuela at Operalia.
Recent highlights include Normanno/Lucia di Lammermoor with Los Angeles Opera, Remendado/Carmen at Santa Fe Opera (where he was an Apprentice Artist), Count Almaviva in Opera Theatre St. Louis’ production of The Barber of Seville and Ernesto/Don Pasquale at the New England Conservatory. On tour with ensemble I Gemelli, Mr. León sang Giove and Amphinome in Monteverdi’s Il ritorno d’Ulisse in patria and performed at Théâtre des Champs-Elysées, Arsenal Theatre, Metz, and Victoria Hall in Geneva. This season, Mr. León will sing with Los Angeles Opera as Spoletta/Tosca and as Curzio/Le nozze di Figaro.
Mr. León holds a Bachelor of Music from La Sierra University and a Master of Music degree focusing on Vocal Performance from the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston, Massachusetts.
