Hailed as “the most talked about soprano of her generation” (Opera News), Angela Meade has fast become recognized as one of today’s outstanding vocalists since making her professional debut a decade ago at the Metropolitan Opera. She excels in the most demanding heroines of the 19th-century bel canto repertoire as well as in the operas of Mozart and Verdi. She has performed with legendary conductors James Levine, Charles Dutoit, Yannick Nézet-Séguin, Plácido Domingo, Fabio Luisi, and Gustavo Dudamel, among others. She has recently sung the title roles in Rossini’s Semiramide and Bellini’s Norma at the Metropolitan Opera, Handel’s Alcina with Washington National Opera, and Cilea’s Adriana Lecouvreur with Oper Frankfurt. Ms. Meade is the recipient of the Beverly Sills Artist Award and the Richard Tucker Award.
