Originally from Cuba and residing in Mexico, the pianist-composer has accompanied noted singers internationally for more than 25 years. Among his recital partners have been tenors Javier Camarena (with whom he has recorded two CDs), Ramón Vargas, Rolando Villazón, Joseph Calleja, and Fernando de la Mora, soprano Ailyn Pérez, mezzo-soprano Kate Lindsey, and baritone Franco Vassallo, among many others. He has performed in many of the most prestigious concert venues in Europe, Asia, and the Americas, including the Palacio de Bellas Artes (Mexico City), the Teatro Real (Madrid), the Terme di Caracalla (Rome), the Konzerthaus (Berlin), the Kennedy Center (Washington), the Harris Theater (Chicago), and the Rosenblatt Recitals (London). Rodriguez participated in the documentary Rolando Villazón: A Mexican Dream, accompanying the tenor in a program that was broadcast on the Arts Channel. A performer in the 2010 Shanghai World Expo, he has appeared with the Moscow-based Kremlin Chamber Orchestra and before Spanish King Juan Carlos I and Queen Sophia. Also associated with the Opera de Cuba and Mexico City’s Opera de Bellas Artes, he has worked in a wide repertoire and with singers including Plácido Domingo, Luciano Pavarotti, and Anna Netrebko.
