Bidlack was recently featured at Lyric Opera of Kansas City as Tony/West Side Story (which he has also sung at Atlanta Opera and with Latvia’s Liepāja Symphony Orchestra); Rob Hall/Joby Talbot’s Everest at Calgary Opera; Nikolaus Sprink/Kevin Puts’s Silent Night at Arizona Opera; and Beppe/Pagliacci at the Metropolitan Opera. The role of Greenhorn/ Jake Heggie’s Moby-Dick brought him to Chicago Opera Theater, where he also appeared in Everest and Rachmaninoff’s Aleko. At New York City Opera, Bidlack sang Andy/Iain Bell’s Stonewall (world premiere). Among his many other contemporary roles have been Bill/Jonathan Dove’s Flight (Des Moines Metro Opera), Irving Tashman/Ricky Ian Gordon’s Morning Star (world premiere at Cincinnati Opera), and Private John Ball/Iain Bell’s In Parenthesis (European debut in Welsh National Opera’s world premiere, with further performances at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden). Bidlack is an alumnus of San Francisco Opera’s Adler Fellowship program.
