Mozart’s Pamina, which marked the soprano’s TDO debut, has also been one of her many successes at the Vienna State Opera. In addition to roles of Mozart, Verdi, and Wagner, Carroll has appeared at the State Opera in two world premieres, singing the title role/Johanna Doderer’s Fatima and Kitty/Johannes Maria Staud’s Die Weiden. Later this season she debuts at Vienna’s Musikverein (soprano soloist in Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9) and England’s Garsington Opera (Countess Adèle/Le comte Ory). Carroll recently made her first appearances with Den Norske Opera in Oslo (Adina/L’elisir d’amore) and the Tokyo Philharmonic (Micaëla/Carmen). An alumna of Houston Grand Opera Studio, she has been featured on HGO’s mainstage as Musetta/La bohème, Leïla/The Pearl Fishers, Woglinde/Das Rheingold (new production), Maria/West Side Story, Mary Bailey/Jake Heggie’s It’s a Wonderful Life (world premiere), among other roles. Carroll has also performed with the Glimmerglass Festival (Julie Jordan/Carousel, Rose Segal/John Musto’s Later the Same Evening), Wolf Trap Opera, and the major companies of Washington, D.C., Seattle, and Fort Worth. She is a recipient of a 2018 Richard Tucker Foundation Career Grant.
