Amanda Kosi (Laurette) South African Soprano, Amanda Kosi, earned the B.A. with Honors from the University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN) in Durban. Amanda has sung the roles of Pamina and First Lady in Mozart’s The Magic Flute, Nella in Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi, Gilda in Verdi’s Rigoletto and Maria in Rodgers and Hammerstein’s The Sound of Music. In 2016, Amanda sang Maria in the SMU production of West Side Story. June 2019, she will sing Nellie Forbush in South Pacific in Port Elizabeth, South Africa. A May 2020 candidate for the Master of Music at SMU, Amanda won First Place in the TEXOMA Region Voice Competition she was also presented with the coveted Grady Harlan Award, given to the singer with the most outstanding career potential.
