Career highlights: Alissa Goretsky is currently a Sarah and Ernest Butler Young Artist with The Houston Grand Opera. She was also a San Francisco District winner in the Metropolitan Opera Laffont Competition and received a Special Encouragement Award in the second round. Other awards include first place in the 2022 Palm Springs Opera Guild Vocal Competition and winner of the 2023 San Francisco Conservatory of Music Voice Concerto Competition. Goretsky holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in music from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, where she was under the tutelage of voice instructor César Ulloa. She made her operatic debut in 2019 as Gismonda in Handel’s Ottone with San Francisco Conservatory of Music. Most recently, she performed and covered roles at Houston Grand Opera, San Francisco Conservatory of Music, and San Francisco Opera. Future engagements covering Mimì in La bohème and Helmwige in Die Walküre at Santa Fe Opera as an apprentice in the summer of 2025.
