Adam Lau, American bass, is praised as a “bass of real quality, with sonorous low notes”, continues a busy career, with a wide range of operatic and concert appearances in the 2019-20 season. He sang Alidoro in La Cenerentola with Seattle Opera, where he appeared earlier this year as Ferrando in Il Trovatore and as Kobun in The (R)evolution of Steve Jobs. Another new role will be Raimondo in Lucia di Lammermoor with Lyric Opera of Kansas City. In the spring he will sing Zuniga in Carmen with Master Voices at Lincoln Center, and return to Dallas Opera as Don Basilio in The Barber of Seville. He also appears in concert with San Francisco Symphony, Oratorio Society of New York and Musica Sacra. Mr. Lau has sung varied operatic roles at the Wexford Festival, Portland Opera, Utah Opera, Opera Theatre of Saint Louis, Kentucky Opera, North Carolina Opera, Florida Grand Opera, and other companies.
