    TDO Sightlines

TDO Sightlines provides opportunities for students to watch world-class opera performances in the Winspear Opera House. Partial view seating on the far sides of the performance hall are reserved for students and teacher/ adult chaperones to enjoy live opera and learn more about the art form. Lean forward (or to the side) and be captivated by the world of opera!

This program may not be suitable for those who have an aversion to heights.

    Mainstage Attendance Policy

Please only reserve the number of seats needed for your group, but we ask that you limit adult/chaperone seats to one for every 10 students. Chaperones may be teachers, school staff, school volunteers or parents.

If you need to revise your reservation, please call 214-443-1088 or email education@dallasopera.org as soon as possible. We will also send an email one month prior to the event reminding you to make any changes to your reservation if needed. You must confirm a final headcount no later than 1 week prior to the event to allow us the time to offer any unclaimed seats to groups on our wait list. Any changes after this time may be penalized. If your group fails to attend without providing prior notice (no-show) or a significant amount of your group fails to attend (ex: 30 ticket reservation, but only 15 are used), your group/school/organization will not be allowed to sign up for the free mainstage programs for the following Season. Exceptions will not be made for reservations of rehearsals and performances during school holidays including Spring Break.

We understand that last-minute circumstances beyond our control arise (transportation trouble, illness, inclement weather, etc.) and will be happy to work with you on those particular kinds of situations, but you must communicate with us. However, if you make the request for tickets for a group, it is your responsibility to ensure that your group attends. We strive to serve students in the community by filling as many seats as possible — and nobody likes to see empty seats in the house!

The Dallas Opera welcomes children ages five and above to mainstage performances, concerts, and recitals at the Winspear Opera House that are suitable for young children. As many operas contain adult subject matter, we strongly advise that parents check our website for content advisories and read the synopsis in advance of purchasing tickets for children regardless of age.

Any patron with a child who creates a disturbance or interferes with others’ enjoyment of the performance will be asked to leave without a refund. You may watch the remainder of the performance from the lobby monitors. For this reason, we recommend bringing your children to programs designed specifically for families. Click here to find our Family Performances.

Everyone, regardless of age, who attends a ticketed performance presented by The Dallas Opera at the Winspear Opera House or Moody Performance Hall must have a ticket. This includes free, ticketed performances.
