    Dancer Auditions

    THE DALLAS OPERA NEEDS

    DANCERS AND ACTORS

    For the Upcoming Fall Production of Carmen

    ~~~~
    Auditions: August 18th by Appointment
    Send Headshot and Resume to auditions@dallasopera.org
    DALLAS, JULY 27, 2018 – The Dallas Opera is seeking accomplished and charismatic local dancers for the second production of our spectacular 62nd International Season: Georges Bizet’s CARMEN, opening on Friday, October 19th for the first of six performances.
    The company is seeking male and female dancers of all backgrounds.  Classical ballet base training is desired and experience dancing in pairs is a plus.  Those wishing to audition should prepare a 30-second improvisational solo, reflecting either flamenco or Argentinian tango style.  Dancers should bring their own recorded music.  Dancers will be judged on their technique, musicality, stage appearance, and personality.
    The Dallas Opera is also seeking seven male actors for this physically-intense production. Experience with stage combat is a plus. One of those seven parts will require spoken dialogue–in French!
    Those hired will receive an AGMA (American Guild of Musical Artists) contract; previous membership in AGMA is not required in order to audition.
    Auditions must be scheduled in advance. Send a current headshot and resume to Cayley Carroll at auditions@dallasopera.org. You will be contacted with the location and more information, as well as to schedule a specific audition time on August 18th.
