Thomas C. Hase is delighted to return to TDO after prior engagements including Otello and the accompanying galas that opened the new Margot and Bill Winspear Opera House, The Aspern Papers, La bohème, Carmen, The Magic Flute, Iolanta, La traviata and Norma. In the U.S., Mr. Hase’s work has been featured at Santa Fe Opera, Washington National Opera at the Kennedy Center, L.A. Opera, San Diego Opera, and Opera Philadelphia, in addition to regional theaters including Chicago Shakespeare Theatre, Dallas Theater Center, and Cincinnati Playhouse. In New York, Mr. Hase designed for Company on Broadway, New York City Opera, Ping Chong & Company, and BAM Next Wave Festival. In the United Kingdom, he has designed for The Barbican, Sadler’s Wells, and Opera North. Elsewhere on the international scene, Thomas has designed for Vienna State Opera, Bordeaux National Opera, Barcelona’s Gran Teatre del Liceu, Bavarian State Opera, Deutsche Oper am Rhein, The Abbey Theater and Riverdreams in Dublin, Sweden’s Malmo Opera, as well as the Dutch, Finnish, and Columbian National Operas. Other international engagements include design work for the Luminato Festival in Toronto, Singapore Arts Festival, Stageholdings and Nationale Reisopera in Holland, and Tokyo Metro Arts Center.
