Designer Michael Vale’s opera sets include designs for Rigoletto with Royal Opera, Carmen and La Bohème with Glyndebourne, Tosca and Alcina with English National Opera, Fidelio in New Zealand and The Turn of the Screw, Dido and Aeneas, Jenůfa, Ariodante, and Tolomeo with English Touring Opera. Vale has also designed prolifically in theatre, engagements including The Canterbury Tales, The Comedy of Errors, Macbeth and Julius Caesar with Royal Shakespeare Company, Bent, Jane Eyre and Peter Pan with National Theatre UK and A Monster Calls with London Old Vic. He has directed and designed productions including Elegy and Tightrope with Lyric Hammersmith in London. He is also the Course Leader for the MA Theatre Design Course at The Wimbledon College of Arts, University of London.
