The American director’s credits include an enormous variety of operatic repertoire, from Carmen (San Diego Opera) and L’elisir d’amore (Virginia Opera) to Die Fledermaus (Utah Opera) and Sir William Walton’s The Bear (Ireland’s Wexford Festival Opera). He has also created productions for Seagle Music Colony, Central City Opera, and Tulsa Opera, among other companies. Lang’s extensive work as a choreographer includes operas as diverse as Ariadne auf Naxos (Santa Fe Opera), My Fair Lady (Naples’s Teatro San Carlo), Vanessa (Wexford Festival Opera), Turandot (Virginia Opera), The Merry Widow (Boston Lyric Opera, Utah Opera), and Jenůfa (Des Moines Metro Opera). He has assistant-directed for the Santa Fe, San Diego, Virginia, Utah, Fort Worth, Central City, Omaha, Tulsa, Memphis, and Indiana University opera companies. As a professional dancer Lang has been seen at the Metropolitan Opera, Lyric Opera of Chicago, The Washington National Opera, Santa Fe Opera, ZviDance, Christopher K. Morgan & Artists, and in countries across Europe, South America, and the Middle East. Lang is an alumnus of New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts.
