The Canadian conductor’s career has included performances with distinguished opera companies and orchestras worldwide. Highlights of her current season includes a return to Iceland for a performance with the Iceland Symphony Orchestra; her Berlin debut conducting a gala concert at the Deutsche Oper; her return to Munich’s Bayerische Staatsoper to lead Rigoletto; and her return to Moscow’s Bolshoi Theatre for La traviata and Un ballo in maschera. Recent successes also include Carmen at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden; Tosca, Madama Butterfly, and La traviata at the Vienna Staatsoper; La fanciulla del West at London’s English National Opera; Rusalka at the Czech National Opera; and works of Verdi, Tchaikovsky, Puccini at the Bolshoi. Wilson is the first female conductor to lead an opera in three major theaters: the Arena di Verona (Tosca, Madama Butterfly), Tokyo’s New National Theatre (Madama Butterfly), and Rome’s Teatro dell’Opera (Aïda). The conductor’s extensive successes in symphonic repertoire include performances has led the major orchestras of San Francisco, Los Angeles, Prague, Seattle, Toronto, and Montreal, among many others.
