The director-choreographer made his choreographic debut in 2010 with TDO’s production of Don Giovanni, and has since returned for La traviata, Carmen, and Great Scott. From 2003 to 2010 he was resident choreographer for Fort Worth Opera. His productions include the world premiere of The Astronaut Love Show (New York’s Kraine Theater); The Rose and the Knife, Otello, and Le Comte Ory (New York’s LoftOpera); La Cage Aux Folles (Skylight Music Theatre); La fille du régiment (Arizona Opera); South Pacific (Ashlawn Opera); María de Buenos Aires (San Diego Opera, Fort Worth Opera, Lexington Philharmonic); and Green Sneakers (Opera Birmingham, Southside Theatre at San Francisco’s Fort Mason Center). His choreography has also been seen at the Washington National, Florida Grand, Philadelphia, Des Moines Metro, Utah Festival, and Austin opera companies. He has written libretti with composer Clint Borzoi for When Adonis Calls (Asheville Lyric Opera premiere, directed and choreographed by De Los Santos) and The Copper Queen, (winner of the top prize in Arizona Opera’s commission program, Arizona SPARK).
