In addition to TDO, the coloratura soprano’s Queen of the Night has been heard at the Metropolitan Opera (debut, 2020), LA Opera, the Glimmerglass Festival (young-artists performance), New Orleans Opera, Minnesota Opera, Central City Opera, and Kentucky Opera. Among Houser’s other major achievements have been title role/The Golden Cockerel (The Dallas Opera), Frantz/Staud’s Die Weiden (world premiere, Vienna State Opera debut), Eurydice/Orpheus in the Underworld (Madison Opera, where she has also sung Anne Egerman/A Little Night Music, Olympia/Les contes d’Hoffmann, Johanna/Sweeney Todd, Amy/Little Women), Najade/Ariadne auf Naxos (Glimmerglass), Zerbinetta/Ariadne auf Naxos (Austin Opera), and Viv/Rachel J. Peters’s Companionship (world premiere, Fort Worth Opera). Houser’s Minnesota Opera roles have also included Susanna/Le nozze di Figaro, La Charmeuse/Thaïs, and Mrs. Grady/Paul Moravec’s The Shining (world premiere). On the concert stage, she has sung Orff’s Carmina Burana with the Madison Symphony, Las Vegas Philharmonic, and Atlanta Ballet, and Brahms’s German Requiem, Haydn’s Creation, and Mozart’s Requiem with Abendmusik: Lincoln (Nebraska). The soprano is an alumna of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and Lawrence University.
