Edward Berkeley is on The Juilliard School faculty and teaches at Circle in the Square Theater School and Pace University. Artistic director of Willow Cabin Theater Company, where he directed Tony and Drama Desk-nominated Wilder, Wilder, Wilder and other heralded productions. He has directed at the Library of Congress, Williamstown Theater Festival, and Old Globe Theater. Mr. Berkeley directed the premiere of Ned Rorem’s Our Town and Thomas Adès’s Powder Her Face. He has taught at the Metropolitan Opera’s Lindemann Young Artists Program and directed his adaptation of Mendelssohn’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, New York Philharmonic; Madama Butterfly, HGO; Tosca, Un Ballo in Maschera, and Otello, Boston Youth Symphony Orchestra. Recent productions include Manon Lescaut, The Dallas Opera; Macbeth, Theatre Toursky and Chateau de Lourmarin; The Marriage of Figaro, Aspen Music Festival.
