A native of Hattiesburg, Mississippi, Sarah Ann Holt holds a BM in Vocal Performance from Houston Baptist University and a MM in Vocal Performance from Southern Methodist University. During her time at SMU, Sarah Ann performed the roles of Mrs. Webb in Our Town and Alcina in Alcina. Ms. Holt also has extensive teaching experience. At SMU, Sarah Ann taught a non-major voice class and assisted teaching two classes: Music in World Cultures and The Art of Listening. She has also worked closely with The Dallas Opera’s Educational Outreach program as a teaching artist, covering several roles and assisting in their Opera Boot Camp. In 2019, Ms. Holt was a winner in The Texas Camerata Baroque Aria Competition and in the summer of 2020, she was a finalist in The Dallas Opera Guild Biennial Lonestar Vocal Competition. In concert, Sarah Ann was the soprano soloist in The Messiah at Houston Baptist University and a soloist at The Classical Music Festival in Eisenstadt, Austria. This upcoming year, Sarah Ann is excited to perform with the Dallas Opera Outreach as Mrs. Nimble/Giant’s Wife in their production of Jack and the Beanstalk.
