
From Brownsville, Texas, tenor David Mejía, Jr. studied at University of Texas at Arlington and attends Texas Christian University. Stage credits include The Magic Flute, La Cenerentola, Susannah, and The Pirates of Penzance. He’s won several competitions, including the 2023 NATS National Student Auditions, Advanced Tenor-Bass category, and performed in world-premiere productions of Jared Schwartz’s Schiele in Prison and James M. Stephenson’s Symphony No. 5. During the 2025/2026 season, he directs a 30-minute opera with Forth Worth Opera.
