At the Grand Theatre in Leeds (if you can catch a good bargain on airfares) you can enjoy the phenomenal Takesha Meshe Kizart—a former winner of The Dallas Opera Guild Vocal Competition—in the title role of Tosca. It’s a revival of Christopher Alden’s Opera North production and it’s already earned a spot as The Guardian‘s “Pick of the Week” (Sept. 20, 2008).
And, best of all, it’s a bravura performance that has already been enjoyed by the arts-starved school children of North Texas. Ms. Kizart performed in the same title role in last year’s school performances in the Music Hall for thousands of kids from Dallas to Wichita Falls.
You, too, can enjoy a moment of her artistry in this “Spirit of Texas” celebration of The Dallas Opera’s education programs—now airing on WFAA-TV.
