More palpable buzz about our revival of “Rigoletto” and its tremendously strong cast. First this from Laura Noble at Pegasus News, in which she particularly praised Paolo Gavanelli’s moving portrayal of the tragic jester, followed by Mark-Brian Sonna’s review for Pegasus and John Garcia’s “The Column.” Mr. Sonna couldn’t detect a single “weak link” and praised director Harry Silverstein for eliciting “sublime performances” across the board. He also praises the technical and visual aspects of the production but notes that “technical prowess wouldn’t amount to much if the cast were to falter. Once again, the Dallas Opera has assembled an A-list of performers that astound.”
Arts Editor Terry Mathews of the “Sulphur Springs News-Telegram” was equally bowled over by this “practically perfect production,” catch her review here.
Tickets, anyone? Only three performances remaining.
