Celebrate the 250th Anniversary of Beethoven’s birth in 2020 by enjoying the composer’s only opera! Fidelio, the story of a courageous and devoted woman willing to risk everything to free her imprisoned husband from the grasp of a malevolent warden, stars Anne Schwanewilms as Leonore in her TDO debut, Sergei Leiferkus as Pizarro, and Mark Baker as Florestan, conducted by former TDO Music Director Graeme Jenkins. Recorded live in the Music Hall at Fair Park in 2002, Fidelio is a towering tribute to mankind’s ability to endure, even in the darkest of times.
