Opera Insights
Presented by The Dallas Opera Guild, Opera Insights is a lively panel discussion featuring the artists, music staff, and the production teams for each of the upcoming TDO productions. Lean about the upcoming production, the conductor’s approach to the opera, how our singers began their careers, and much more!
Opera Insights is moderated by members of The Dallas Opera Senior Staff and is presented by The Dallas Opera Guild. The next event is Das Rheingold: The Myth and the Music on Sunday, February 5th , 2023 at 4 pm in Hamon Hall.
Vocal Competition
The Dallas opera Guild Vocal Competition for talented young singers aspiring to a professional career in opera, is an annual spring event. This year, the Lone Star Vocal Competition is open to Texas residents. There is no upper or lower age limit for the applicants, however the competition is intended to focus primarily on individuals in the range of 18-34 years of age at the start day of the competition. Participants compete for prestige and monetary prizes during the event held in the Margot and Bill Winspear Opera House. Join us on Friday, March 31st at 7:30 pm.”
Adopt-an-Artist
Adopt-An-Artist is a program that welcomes international stars to our community. This much-appreciated program pairs a Guild host with visiting artists to ensure that their Dallas Opera experience and brief sojourn in our city is enjoyable.
Locally, the Guild hosts a variety of special educational programs and fun events for members throughout the year. Our Guilded Notes Newletter provdes Guild members with news and information on upcoming activities and events.
Shop at the Opera
The Guild offers its members the opportunity to volunteer at the Shop at the Opera where local businesses are highlighted along with TDO merchandise. The Shop is open before all mainstage productions in the West Lobby of the Margot and Bill Winspear Opera House.
