For one night only, Saturday, November 9, 2019 at 7:30 p.m, six female conductors take turns at the podium to showcase their personal styles and remarkable talent. You’ll be caught up in the excitement, as they guide talented young singers and The Dallas Opera Orchestra through an incredible evening of arias, overtures, and duets.
Celebrating its fifth year since 2015, when The Dallas Opera launched this unique, new residential program—designed to provide training and career support for distinctively talented women conductors on the cusp of major international careers. This program of hands-on masterclasses, career development sessions, and industry insights from experts in their fields culminates in a one-time-only concert featuring these six rising stars in the opera conducting world.
Program underwriting and naming support generously funded by Linda and Mitch Hart. Initial support provided by the Richard and Enika Schulze Foundation.
This year’s concert will feature artists from Opera for Peace-Leading Young Voices of the World: a unique international opera-project reflecting the reality of today’s globalized world. Drawing upon the diversity of all cultural heritages while working towards a common goal of artistic excellence, they strongly aspire for the advancement of this lyric art form and promoting positive universal values – most importantly, mutual respect.
