DALLAS, SEPTEMBER 28, 2011 – The Dallas Opera is proud to honor seven of our most generous individual donors and foundations from the past decade, with the unveiling of the Dallas Opera’s 21st Century Wall of Honor, located in the West Lobby of the Margot and Bill Winspear Opera House.
The new Wall of Honor acknowledges those exceptional individuals and foundations that have given multi-million dollar gifts to the Dallas Opera in the 21st century and made tremendous contributions to both the artistic and financial strengths of the company. The honorees (listed in alphabetical order) are:

“The Dallas Opera is extremely fortunate to be the beneficiary of some of the most respected and visionary philanthropists in North Texas,” says Dallas Opera Chairman Dr. Kern Wildenthal. “Their past generosity has defined the Dallas cultural landscape and their gifts to TDO in the 21st century have helped this company to weather the worst economic downturn since the Great Depression.
“Together, these people have created a model of cultural and civic leadership that will endure for generations to come.”

Single tickets for the four mainstage productions of the Dallas Opera’s “Tragic Obsessions” Season are on sale now, starting at just $25, through the Dallas Opera Ticket Services Office at 214.443.1000 or online at www.dallasopera.org.
Full Season Subscriptions are still available, beginning at just $76 for all four productions. Subscribers will have the first chance to purchase tickets for the limited engagement of The Lighthouse by Peter Maxwell Davies, inaugurating the Dallas Opera’s new chamber opera series next spring. The work will be produced in collaboration with the Dallas Theater Center and will mark the opera debut of director Kevin Moriarty, Artistic Director of the DTC, who will stage this new production of a work that originally premiered in 1980.
Student Rush best-available tickets can be purchased at the lobby box office for $25 (one per valid Student I.D.) ninety minutes prior to each performance.

THE DALLAS OPERA 2011-2012 SEASON INFORMATION
The Dallas Opera celebrates its Fifty-FifthInternational Season in the Margot and Bill Winspear Opera House at the AT&T Performing Arts Center in downtown Dallas. With the exception of Tristan & Isolde, evening performances will begin at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday matinees will begin at 2:00 p.m. Tristan’s evening performances will start at 7:00 p.m. and matinees at 2:00 p.m. Performances of The Lighthouse (new chamber opera series) will take place in the Dee and Charles Wyly Theatre located directly across the street from the Winspear in the AT&T Performing Arts Center. English translations will be projected above the stage at every performance. Assistance is available for the hearing impaired.
