I’m shocked and dismayed at the looming “performance gap” and its potential to derail the medal hopes of American athletes participating in the upcoming Beijing Summer Olympic Games. The Russians have beaten us to the proverbial punch, yet again.
Wouldn’t you think that in the interest of national security and global image that the U. S. State Department would have had the sense to enlist organizations like The Dallas Opera for this noble cause? And with the “dog days” of summer coming, couldn’t we all use a radical change of scenery?
