A Letter from Keith Cerny,
General Director & CEO

I’ll let you in on a well-kept secret: Opera is for everyone.

If your pulse races when you witness a tremendously absorbing drama, opera is for you. If sweeping orchestral music and choruses make you levitate out of your seat, then, opera’s for you. If romantic comedy is your thing — nobody does it better than opera! And if you’re knocked out by great singers doing the impossible while making it look easy — you need to experience the world-class artistry of the Dallas Opera!

The Dallas Opera season is a perfect introduction to this endlessly entertaining art form. Expect extraordinary international stars in action-packed productions at one of the world’s great opera houses! So what are you waiting for? The adventure begins now!

The Dallas Opera

The future has never looked brighter. The current leadership has plans to guide the company through another exciting season in our new home: the Margot and Bill Winspear Opera House at the AT&T Performing Arts Center.

The Dallas Opera opened with an unforgettable performance by legendary Greek soprano Maria Callas (left) in November of 1957. Subsequently, the Dallas Opera has presented many international stars in their American debuts, including Dame Joan Sutherland, Montserrat Caballé, Jon Vickers and Plácido Domingo, as well as designer/director Franco Zeffirelli.
