The Women’s Board

History

Our membership is composed of outstanding and innovative women who have made a difference to the Dallas Opera through their service
and fundraising activities.

The Women’s Board of The Dallas Opera was founded fifty-one years ago as a volunteer organization for the primary purpose of providing financial support for The Dallas Opera, and this purpose continues today. Vera Hartt Martin was the founding Chairman.

Our membership is composed of outstanding and innovative women who have made a difference to the Dallas Opera through their service and fundraising activities. The Women—s Board has contributed over five million dollars to The Dallas Opera.

The Women’s Board also sponsors the Founders’ Lecture Series, which provides a forum to increase the enjoyment of the opera experience by examining each opera of the season before it opens. In addition to the fundraising events and educational projects, members of The Women’s Board enjoy program luncheons, teas and special events throughout the year.
