Pepito

Vertigo, a jack of all trades (who introduces himself with a parody of Figaro’s entrance in The Barber of Seville) is rebuffed by the beautiful hostess of the local inn, Manuelita. She is waiting patiently for her fiancé, Pépito, to be released from military service. Miguel, a childhood friend, returns to their native village where he immediately falls for Manuelita’s charms.  He gets Vertigo out of the way in order to flirt with the girl yet Miguel’s advances are rejected.  In fact, Miguel is so impressed with Manuelita’s virtue and loyalty that he decides to take the young soldier’s place, so he can come home to marry.  However, a letter from Pépito drops a stunning piece of news on Manuelita and Miguel! Learn who finally gets the girl in Offenbach’s charming, one-act comedy.

Mainstage Performance Opportunities

The 2017-2018 Season

These two FREE programs allow your students to experience our 2017-2018 productions at the Winspear Opera House.

Mainstage Attendance Policy

Please only reserve the number of seats needed for your group, but we ask that you limit adult/chaperone seats to one for every 10 students. Chaperones may be teachers, school staff, school volunteers or parents.

If you need to revise your reservation, please call 214-443-1082 or email TDO Education as soon as possible. We will also send an email one month prior to the event reminding you to make any changes to your reservation if needed. You must confirm a final headcount no later than 2 weeks prior to the event to allow us the time to offer any unclaimed seats to groups on our wait list. Any changes after this time may be penalized. If your group fails to attend without providing prior notice (no-show) or a significant amount of your group fails to attend (ex: 30 ticket reservation, but only 15 are used), your group/school/organization will not be allowed to sign up for the free mainstage programs for the following Season. Exceptions will not be made for reservations of rehearsals and performances during school holidays including Spring Break.

We understand that last-minute circumstances beyond our control arise (transportation trouble, illness, inclement weather, etc.) and will be happy to work with you on those particular kinds of situations, but you must communicate with us. However, if you make the request for tickets for a group, it is your responsibility to ensure that your group attends. We strive to serve students in the community by filling as many seats as possible — and nobody likes to see empty seats in the house!
