Occasionally, we like to check in on some of our favorite singers and find out what they’re up to, and there are few nicer guys in this business than 2007 Richard Tucker Award winner Brandon Jovanovich, who is performing the role of the hapless Don Jose at Glyndebourne this summer before jetting off to L.A. for Mahler’s 8th with the Los Angeles Philharmonic. We were pleased to see that Brandon is returning to Texas early this fall to reprise the role of Turiddu, the womanizing cad in “Cavalleria rusticana” in a new production at HGO. You’ll remember his fine performance in that role with The Dallas Opera a few seasons back.
