Performers to Appear in SAMSON & DALILA at the Winspear Opera House

DALLAS, August 10, 2017 – The Dallas Opera announces a fabulous opportunity to perform in the magnificent Winspear Opera House in the production of SAMSON & DALILA by Camille Saint-Saëns. Talented male and female dancers are needed for the classic opera which opens on Friday, October 20, 2017.
The Dallas Opera is seeking a wide range of candidates with a solid level of training in dance. Performers with experience in ballet, modern, and other dance styles will be considered. The audition will take place on Friday, August 18, 2017, from 1:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. at the Karayanis Rehearsal Production Center, 4301 S. Fitzhugh, Dallas, TX 75210.
SAMSON & DALILA will be directed by Bruno Berger-Gorski and choreographed by Nycole Ray of Dallas Black Dance Theatre. Rehearsals begin on September 19, 2017 culminating in five performances on October 20, 22, 25, 28 and November 5, 2017 in the Winspear Opera House at the AT&T Performing Arts Center.
The performers will be compensated for rehearsal time, provided a per-performance fee and will be issued an AGMA contract.

SAMSON & DALILA is based on the biblical tale and stars internationally renowned Olga Borodina as Dalila, and distinguished Clifton Forbis as Samson. The French composition features the famous bacchanale scene which will feature the dancers. It will be led by acclaimed conductor Emmanuel Villaume.
The Margot and Bill Winspear Opera House is conveniently located in the heart of the Arts District at 2403 Flora Street, Dallas, TX 75201.
The Dallas Opera Rehearsal Center, where the auditions will take place, is just outside Fair Park (follow the signs to Gate 12) at 4301 S. Fitzhugh, Dallas, TX 75210.
