Dear Friends and Colleagues:
Happy New Year.
My father lost his long battle with cancer August 9, 2012.
I wanted to do something to honor his memory and help others that are in end-of-life situations. This year I had the privilege to play for several people in hospice care. The smallest gestures meant so much to them. Because of this, I have established the “Ihor Koszman Concerts for Hospice”, of Texas Winds Musical Outreach. http://www.texaswinds.org/koszman.html
Texas Winds Musical Outreach is a non-profit organization that provides access to “live” music performance to thousands of isolated seniors, hospital patients, veterans and at-risk children. Last season 1,015 concerts were given for 42,267 individuals. This year the goal is to exceed 1,200 concerts. You can learn more about this GREAT organization here http://www.texaswinds.org/
Jing Wang, concertmaster of the Dallas Opera Orchestra, is giving a benefit recital for the “Ihor Koszman Concerts for Hospice”, Sunday February 10th, at 7:00 pm. The concert will be at Christ Lutheran Church, 3001 Lovers Lane, Dallas, 75225. Jing is amazing. If you haveworked with him or heard him play you KNOW what I mean by “amazing”..
I urge you to attend this very special one hour recital and reception. Texas Winds Musical Outreach is a fully accredited 501(c)(3) organization. Your donation is tax deductible– but most importantly, you will help us help others.
Please feel free to forward this email to anyone you know that is interested in end of life care or anyone that might be interested in hearing a truly great violinist.
