Tod Machover, Musical Genius and “Mad Scientist”

by Suzanne Calvin

“And other times, my hair is this big.”

Admittedly, he does have that 1930s black-and-white cinema mad scientist hairdo, no doubt inspired by the real life Albert Einstein. But there’s nothing remotely scary about cutting-edge composer and MIT Media Lab legend Tod Machover, who came to Dallas this week for an enthusiastic ”Composing Conversation” with Art&Seek producer-reporter Jerome Weeks, and a terrific live performance with soprano Sara Heaton.

Anyhoo…If you missed it, this “Observer” interview by Katie Womack is worth a look.  And if you DIDN”T miss the event, it’s worth a look too.  Read it right here.
