That’s what Dean Cassella did by quoting a marvelous passage from Gustave Flaubert’s “Madame Bovary” as the lead to his review of the Dallas Opera’s “Lucia di Lammermoor.” Another strong impression made by our leading lady on a local critic.
Sherri Tilley of “The Flash List” said, despite the obvious romantic appeal for women, that this is a terrific opera for the men out there who might be considering a night at the opera. And I see her point (from the pointy swordplay to the pointed dialogue from men who’ve been tricked and betrayed–as well as women!) Check out her review here.
