Building(s) for the Future

by Suzanne Calvin

Before he skipped the continent, Music Director Graeme Jenkins offered up an evening at the Dallas Museum of Arts to discuss the “State of the Arts” in Dallas/Fort Worth and what we need to do to develop a larger, broader and more engaged performing arts audience here in North Texas.

A few of his thoughts are expressed here (KERA’s Jeff Whittington did a fine job as moderator of this lively conversation, which included the equally interesting John Coyne) and we hope you’ll share your suggestions and comments as well.

Most definitely I think that Houston has Dallas beat on the museum district, medical, even arts… Not to mention that houston has a great view for the city and that’s a shame because even though houston is bigger. Dallas is a newer city and it should have progress. Another though is that the freeways in dallas have to be rebuild immediately asap
